How to run a chat giveaway on Kick and Twitch

A thump giveaway collects entries straight from chat — on Kick and Twitch at the same time — and draws the winner at random, weighted by tickets. Viewers type a keyword or buy tickets with channel points; you decide when to close entries and when to draw.

Step by step
  1. Create the giveaway

In the dashboard go to Giveaways and create a new one. First you choose how viewers join: "In chat" (free, with a keyword) or "With channel points" (tickets bought with points).

  2. Set the keyword

For a chat giveaway you enter a word, for example !join. The bot compares the whole message — "!join" counts, "!join let's go" does not. An empty field means every chat message is an entry.

  3. Pick the platform and the requirements

Kick, Twitch or both at once; you cannot change this after creation. The giveaway can be limited to subscribers, with "luck" from ×1 to ×9 — a sub then gets that many tickets, a regular viewer one. The "followers only" option is greyed out, because the Kick API does not expose follow status.

  4. Decide the number of winners and the confirmation

You choose how many people you draw. With "presence confirmation" on, the person drawn still has to write anything in chat — until they do, the win is marked as pending.

  5. Start it and draw

You open a chat giveaway with the button in the dashboard or with the !giveaway start command — creating it does not open entries. When you want to close them you click End, then Draw: a wheel with the participants spins in the dashboard. The same works from chat: !giveaway draw, !giveaway reroll (rejects the last winner and draws another) and !giveaway loser if you want to pick someone among those who did not win. The bot announces the result on every platform the giveaway runs on.

  6. Show the giveaway on stream

In the Widgets tab copy the giveaway widget link and add it in OBS as a browser source. The overlay shows the prize, the keyword, the participant counter and the winner announcement.

Common problems

Viewers type the keyword but the counter stays put

Check two things: whether the giveaway is started (creating it is not starting it) and whether the keyword matches character for character — the bot compares the whole message, not its beginning.

There is no wheel on the widget

The wheel belongs to the dashboard, not the overlay — the widget on your scene shows the prize, the participant counter and the winner. If you want to show the spin itself, capture the dashboard window as a separate source in OBS.

The person drawn says nothing

With presence confirmation on, the win waits until the winner writes in chat. If they do not come back, reject them in the dashboard and draw again, or use !giveaway reroll.

I cannot change the giveaway's platform

The platform is fixed at creation, because it decides where the points reward is created and where announcements go. Create a new giveaway instead.
